THE VENUE

LOCATED IN EAST AUSTIN ON LADY BIRD LAKE AT FIESTA GARDENS

Located in East Austin at one of the most iconic recognizable and versatile community event spaces in Austin.

The Venue (13,500 sq. ft): Features an outdoor and indoor space with 1 music stage and bar in the heart of Austin. This is the area with 35+ agave brands to mingle with and sample agaves.

Parking: There is ample free parking on the streets and near-by areas as well. All info will be send to you after purchasing your ticket for the venue, entry, parking, etc.

Event Hours: The festival will take place from 5pm-10pm with VIP Entry starting at 5pm and GA at 6pm in which tastings go til 9pm, then music ’til 11pm. The after party is near-by at Maggie Mae’s Bar downtown on 6th St. until 2am with DJ music and live bands (just 2 miles away).

How Tasting Works: When you arrive at the front registration area, you can simply show your QR Code from your email ticket confirmation to check-in and receive your wristband and tasting glass. Once you walk inside, you will see the different brands with booths and simply walk up to chat with them about their agave and learn their story. Hold up your tasting glass which, you get to keep, and they will pour a tasting for you plus information on the type of plant you are drinking. Enjoy unlimited tastings along with education and have fun!

LIVE LUCHA LIBRE WRESTLING!

VIVA! Lucha Libre is a high-flying, theatrical style of Mexican professional wrestling, distinguished by masked wrestlers (luchadores), rapid-paced acrobatics, and a “good vs. evil” narrative structure.

The festival will feature a full size ring outside with several characters wrestling in high-impact matches for people to enjoy before the festival with mezcal and beer for purchase. Make sure to enjoy part of Mexico’s favorite cultural type of old entertainment with other Mezcal Lovers. This is an add-on experience (coming soon).

WHAT TO EXPECT

MEZCAL TASTING: 5-9PM

Grab your shot glass when you check-in and head inside to sample some of the best artisanal agaves from Mexico! VIP Early entry at 5pm with custom glass to keep and GA entry at 6pm to enjoy unlimited tastings with brands.

LIVE BAND AND DJ MUSIC

Enjoy DJs and live bands outside until 10pm during the festival. Head to the after party at Maggie Mae’s until 2am with full bar for purchase near-by (2 miles away, included w/VIP pass).

BBQ FOOD

.You can’t have a Mezcal Festival with-out great food! Choose from an amazing BBQ Food selection to purchase and pair with your favorite Mezcal. There will be several bars with signature Mezcal drink specials and shots for purchase to enjoy all night.

How the tasting works

Mezcal Tasting 101

The proper way to drink Mezcal is to give the cup a tiny kiss to your mouth to introduce the spirit and then take a small sip and blow out the alcohol. There will be over 35 brands joining the festival with over variants of agave species to try, including mostly Mezcal, PLUS other agave types to enjoy, such as: Tequila, Sotol, Bacanora / Raicilla. There will be talks going on the stage plus education with the brands to learn more.
